At VOITED we’re striving to use the most environmentally friendly fabrics possible in our manufacturing process. For our water-resistant outerwear and outdoor blankets, we have replaced the nylon made from oil based plastic chips with REPREVE®, the leading performance fibre made from recycled materials (including plastic bottles).
REPREVE® transforms recycled bottles into an amazing fibre with inherent properties including wicking, adaptive warming and cooling, water repellency, and more at fiber level. This results in outdoor products that are both high performance and durable.
For the Alpha line, VOITED has taken a vintage outdoor fabric to the next level. The fabric is constructed from long-fibre, densely woven 100% cotton yarn.
We've added a Teflon EcoElite™ high grade membrane coating to further increase water deflection.
For the abrasion resistant fabric used in our Beta jackets, we're currently using a 51% recycled nylon Taslan Oxford weave with added Teflon EcoElite™ coating which naturally repels water. We are striving to increase the percentage of recycled fabric used in all our products.
To increase the water repellancy of our base fabrics we use a Teflon EcoElite™ finish. It’s the first renewably sourced, plant-based, non-fluorinated fabric treatment for durable water repellency and is manufactured with 60 percent renewably sourced raw materials.
Teflon EcoElite™ is also up to three times more durable than existing non-fluorinated repellents and can be applied to a variety of fabrics without impacting feel or breathability.
This non-fluorinated product has been recognized as a USDA-certified biobased product, because it's made with 60% renewably sourced content from plant-based raw material.
